A friend recently lent me Love Is an Orientation: Elevating the Conversation With the Gay Community by Andrew Marin. Overall I liked the book. That being said, it is probably only worth reading if the subject matter remotely tugs at your heart or mind. Interestingly, even as an IVP book, I was surprised to see how "emergent" the whole thing felt... I didn't really expect that. This was cemented by the use of a Thomas Merton quote or two, which is pretty much the hallmark of emergent literature best I can tell. Is actually amusing how many authors I have now read who quote Merton, but I still have not read any of Merton's own works.
